Yixing Teapot

This Yixing teapot is often referred to as "one taste" based on the Chinese characters etched into the teapot. 

Yixing is known for its clay teaware, which are carefully made, mixed, fermented, and fired to produce different finishes - this teapot is the red-brown Yixing clay. The semi-porous clay helps to both retain heat for better steeping and absorb the oils from the tea leaves, seasoning the teapot every time it is used. For that reason, it is recommended that you only use one type of tea (green, white, black, etc.) in each teapot.
