Sesame Seeds, Toasted

Toasting brings out the nutty flavor of sesame seeds. Many people buy already toasted sesame seed as there is a thin line between the seeds being perfectly lightly toasted and being burnt and bitter. Use toasted sesame as a condiment, shaken onto rice, noodles, and vegetable dishes. They can also be used to make Indian chutneys and salad dressings or simply sprinkled onto caramel apples.
